Bone mineral density (BMD) calibration phantoms

IMPORTANT: Entering the serial number of your device in the Equipment Number field is necessary for smooth order processing.
The serial number consists of 8 digits and can be found on the device surface near the power connections or in each scan log file.

Variants:

• 2mm-4mm diameter set (small). The rod pair has concentrations of 0.3 and 1.25 g/cm3 CaHA. 2mm BMD rodsare suitable for very small bones such as mouse bones; 4mm rods are applicable to rat bones.
• 8mm-16mm diameter set (medium). The rod pair has concentrations of 0.3 and 1.25 g/cm3 CaHA. Suitable for larger bones such as rabbit, sheep, human.
• 32 mm diameter set of BMD phantoms (large). The rod pair has concentrations of 0.3 and 1.25 g/cm3 CaHA. Suitable for large bones such as human or large animal vertebrae.

The phantom set also includes embedded foil thickness phantom consisting of a stack of 4 foils with a thickness of 20, 50, 125 and 250 microns. The foils are separated by plastic film. These phantoms are used for the calibration of the trabecular thicknesses in the images. Since the intensity in the image decreases when the structures are getting smaller it is important to know what will be lost due to the global segmentation and how to put the segmentation values correctly.
