The Amine Flat Sensor contains a flat carboxylated surface without dextran matrix. The absence of dextran makes this sensor less hydrophilic than the High Capacity Amine Sensor but it has the same functionality with lower binding capacity. The negatively charged carboxyl groups on the surface allow ligand immobilization via its functional groups, such as amino, thiol, and aldehyde groups. This sensor type is suitable when working with large analytes such as cells and virus particles, and where dextran is undesirable.
